Wanted: Dead Or Alive

Wanted: Dead Or Alive
For Christmas I got a DVD set of the entire first season of Wanted:Dead or Alive starring Steve McQween. Though I am a big Steve McQueen fan, the star of the show is the gun that his character carries thoughout the series. It is a sawed off, shortened stock Winchester Model 1892 44-40 lever action. This thing is very, very cool and he uses it a LOT.

Here's a picture or two:

If you're into old westerns, and love to look at the guns they carry (like I do), you'll want to get Wanted: Dead or Alive. The acting and story is not up to Gunsmoke standards (which is probably why it only lasted three seasons), but I find it very entertaining. Well worth the $7-10 the entire season set cost.

RE: Wanted: Dead Or Alive
I'm not sure that what they did to that Winchester was such a good idea, but it looks cool as hell.
I had watched the show The Riflemen alot when I was a kid (Chuck Conner was bad-ass to a kid in grade school), I have never seen this show. I will have to see if I can find one or two shows for screening/ review.

Man, doesn't Steve look like he's about 16 years old in that picture?

He is young, that's for sure. And from what I hear he was a great guy. heavy into bikes and motorsports.

RE: Wanted: Dead Or Alive
Man, you brought back some memories with this show. Don't remember much about what it was about, but with McQueen in it, it had to be badass. Now, you've made me think about some more shows from way-back-when, like Wagon Train, Johnny Rebel, the 20-mule team Borax show, Bat Masterson, Have Gun Will Travel, and a few others. McQueen was a very accomplished bike rider/collector and auto racer in his time and from what I hear, he was a very down to earth man.
