Oh Henry!

Oh Henry!
The wife had to do it. She had to go out and buy herself a leveraction of her own. Actually, she already owns a Marlin 336 in 30-30, but she doesn't shoot it much because it kicks pretty heavy.

So she buys herself this nifty Henry H001 .22 that shoots 22 shorts, 22 Longs, and 22LR.

We are taking it out today to the range and test it out. I have heard nothing but great things about the Henry's, and this one was the least expensive we've seen yet at $259 ($40 off regular Gander Mt. price).

Though we haven't shot it yet, I have to say that the action on this rifle is the absolute smoothest I have ever experienced. My only complaint is that the stock doesn't seem to match up to the reciever very well. We looked at three of the same rifle and they all were the same. If this is my only complaint with this rifle, then I will be happy.

The scope is a 4x9x30 Bushnell Rimfire scope ($44.99 on sale for $34.99) that came with the rings.

Here are some pics for now...

I think I will let the wife give the range report...

RE: Oh Henry!
The henry .22 is a great little gun. She shoots shorts, long long rifle. It shot them all with ease. I will shoot reg longs in the rifle. The lever action mechanics are smooth as silk. I felt like a old west gunfighter for a minute! The patterns are well grouped. The gun was awesome to shoot. Another plus for this gun is the weight. It weighs 5 and 1/2 pounds and that is light enough to carry while hunting. The stock is a walnut grain and nice looking. I enjoy shooting it and very happy with the gun. Happy shooting everybody!
