Have Colt Model 1911, 45 Cal Govt Model S/N C127184 in great condition and attempting to place value on it. Know it was carried in WWII.

Welcome to the forum. According to this page...

http://www.coolgunsite.com/pistols/colt%...uction.htm

your gun, with the "C" prefix is a commercial gun, not a military one. Looks like it was made around 1921. These early Colts can be nuts to try to put a price tag on. I would recommend going to Gunbroker.com and search completed auctions and look for one similar in condition and vintage and see what they are going for. There is no hard and fast rule as to what 1911's, especially the early ones will sell for.

Thanks so much for the response. I know that it was carried in combat so they must have taken civilian as well as Gov't issue 1911's for military use. Again, thanks for the information.

Not a problem. Feel free to post pictures of that classic. Nothing better than a vintage 1911.
